Educator
Developing creativity is an essential characteristic for success in the 21 century. Caddy aims to have all students gain insight into visual literacy and develop their abilities to be and think creatively. She embraces a contemporary approach to both art and teaching, pushing for new practices and cherishing old traditions. She aids students to develop habits of an artist such as the ability to approach topics from multiple perspectives, build empathy, be an innovative problem solver, a critical responder, a passionate researcher and lover of learning through experimentation and play. These habits are valuable to not just artist- but each developing individual as well. Visuals also play a huge part in today's culture; it's vital that students know how to interpret and comprehend these insightfully. Creativity and visual literacy are two valuable parts of what makes a well rounded member of society. The arts prepares students with skills that will be valuable not just today- but tomorrow as well!
