Ms. Cicogna was first hired as a visual arts teacher at BHS during the start of the 2020-21 school year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the school year had begun with a fully remote schedule, transitioning through two hybrid models, and finally back to fully in person! These times were consistently changing and Ms. Cicogna was ready to teach art no matter the classes structure. From art kits, remote demonstrations, individualized supplies to social distancing her students were still able to pursue a diverse and in-depth creative experience during the school year. The schedule may have been always been changing, but the quality of art making experience persisted!
Students pursued project/choice based classes that were aligned with the 2019 Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks Standards for the Visual Arts. They were encouraged to explore, experiment and create remotely at home and in the classroom. To keep students on track Ms. Cicogna utilized google classroom and her weekly agenda google hyper-docs to pave the path for what was going on in class each week; these were jam packed with instruction and content!
